Demonoid.com Changes - new web URL
If you've noticed our target URL in our above link, it is Demonoid.ME, and not Demonoid.com. That's right, Demonoid has now acquired a new web URL and is moving to this new address.

A lot of people have been posting this question on the comments, so here's an idea of how ratio works, and whether or not you will get more invites if your Demonoid ratio is high.
Basically, Demonoid's policy on ratio is not specific towards generating invitation codes. The ratio itself is the calculation of your downloads versus your uploads. There is nothing more to it than a statistical representation of your torrent activity.
However, Demonoid and other seeders will strongly encourage you to take part in seeding downloaded torrents, because this is how the sharing community lives. The more seeders there are, the better.
Will I get kicked out of Demonoid if I have a low ratio?
Demonoid has no policy on banning or removing users if they have very low ratio. Although it is better when you have a ratio of 1 and higher, you do not get any punishment for having a low ratio.
Do I get more invites if my Demonoid ratio high?
The creation of Demonoid invites is random, as Demonoid states. However, many users are able to generate invitation codes for as long as they have been a member for at least 30 days. As with the number of invitation codes you can create, with experience, you will be able to generate 5 invitation codes at a time, or have invitation codes on your control panel left unused.
The invitation codes may expire in due time so using the codes within a period after it has been generated is a must.
Here's a comparison of two accounts, having different ratios (low and high ratio), and still having the same number of maximum unused invitation codes:
This means that you do not necessarily get more invites if your Demonoid ratio is higher.

Code sponsors will not be generating new Demonoid invitation codes tomorrow, July 19, 2010. This is because of the number of unused codes we have left. We have initially mentioned about generating codes when the individuals who request the code are guaranteed to use the codes. We will implement this rule once again to avoid overlaps of the using of our code generator in Demonoid.
This is also to limit the number of people who are going to be invited, and to limit the giving out of codes only to truly interested users. If you want a code, starting tomorrow, July 19, 2010, you may still use the request form and follow the instructions on the email you will receive. We will require you to send us a direct email with the needed information before we generate the invitations for you. This way, we can also guarantee you 100% that the code we will give you is valid and working.

This is not a tutorial about hacking the invitation code or creating a Demonoid generator to come up with codes. This is the legitimate and only way of generating invitation codes in Demonoid.
Be a Demonoid Member
The first and obvious criteria to be able to generate invitation codes is to be a member; but new members cannot instantly create codes. You have to be at least a member for 30 days before you will have the privilege to use your invitation code generator. This is probably a method to keep users active as well as a precaution to avoid abusers from coming in. If Demonoid lets all their new users generate invitation codes immediately after they signed up, there could be a lot of possible abuses kicking in because of the large availability of invitation codes.
Being able to use your invitation code generator is also said to be privilege because not all who are members for at least 30 days are instantly given a chance to create invites. It could take from days, to weeks, to months for other users to be able to see the invitation generator in their account. If you have been a member for at least 30 days, you may check your Control Panel to see whether you already have access to invitation code using the Demonoid generator.
If you are a member of less than 30 days (or while you do not have the privilege to use the Demonoid generator), this is how your Invitation Codes Panel will look like:
In the above image, you still do not have the option to create any invitations. While if you are already privileged to create an invitation code, Demonoid generator will appear on your control panel:
Number of Invitation Codes
When you create invitation codes through the Demonoid generator, the number of invitation codes you can generate is limited. Based on experience, the maximum number of invitation codes you can create at once is five (5):
You will then have to wait until the codes are used before you can start using the invitation code Demonoid generator again. Each code maybe valid for seven days after you generated them.
Other Factors
One of the other factors that may (or may not) affect the creation of Demonoid invitation codes would be your ratio. Although Demonoid does not necessarily require you to have a high ratio (or a certain ratio) to have the privilege of using the Demonoid generator, it may be wise enough to keep a good ratio. After all, it is a sharing community.
